I've begun trying to use these for my dd who is 6 months old. Is there a particular way to line up and put in the valve that works the best? Should the milk coming flowing out when it is upside down? Also, it came with a clear disk. Is that used for traveling?

Thanks for your help.

We use the soft spouts. The milk should not flow out. I'm not sure I understand your question, but the valve consists of two parts. You have to put the rubbery disk on the hard plastic disk (the little spike fits through the hole) and then insert the entire thing inside the spout.

I don't think I explained that very well, but hope it helped. The fact that there is an extra piece is kind of annoying, but Truman likes these spouts, and it made an easy transition when he gave up bottle completely.

Thanks. You did answer my question. I wasn't sure if you used the plastic disk. I didn't know it was part of the valve. My dd never took a bottle and I have some Avent bottles which I'm hoping to use with the soft spout.
