Hi! I was just wondering when you all started feeding your little ones yogurt and cottage cheese. My doctor's handout says 9 months but my books say after 6 months. Thank You!

I gave my 1 month old acidophilus capsules to help with thrush. Yogurt I started at 5 months. She seemed ready for it at that time. Some babies aren't ready for spoon-fed foods until much later.

If you or DH have any concerns/family history with allergies: i.e. history of food sensitivity/allergies/hay fever/eczema/asthsma you may want to stay away from milk products until at least 9 months of age, better yet, 12 months.

When introducing new foods, remember to introduce one and wait a few days to see if there is sensitivity. (I tend to group vegetables into one category, fruits into another :) ).

Try a few spoonfuls and see how baby does!

I usually go by The Baby Book (Dr. Sears), because it is usually pretty right on target with things. He recomends 9 months as well.
