What is the purpose of items like Isomil 2, or Similac 2? The cans say they are for older, growing toddlers, but, for the most part, aren't most children this age supposed to drink milk? If it's for children with sensitivities, can't they drink soy milk? I'm confused by it! Is it just another way to get parents to spend money?

These are VERY popular in Europe, but haven't really caught on in the US. I asked my ped about them, and he said that as long as your baby was eating a relatively balanced diet, there was no need for them.

I thought these were supposed to be for babies over 4 months. Hmmmm. I've just always used the regular formulas and then switched to milk at age 1.

I will admit to giving the 'insurance' vitamin drops once solids are started. I don't want to be held accountable if I'm missing out on some important vitamin!

On the other hand, it's in Europe where the mothers are not given prenatal vitamins because they are just told to 'eat right'.
