I just got the book "Super Baby Foods" and she recommends not using a "bottle type" infant feeder is this the mesh paciifer looking feeder she is referring to? DS will start solids soon and I was thinking about getting this feeder. I like the idea of using it when he is teething.....anyway she says it is not developmentaly appropriate. But as an SLP, sometimes older children that need practice chewing are given food wrapped in gauze so they can practice that skill.....which kind of seems like the same concept at the baby safe feeder. ....any input is appreciated

No, I don't think so. There are bottles out there designed to feed rice cereal through (obviously very watered down). They have a larger nipple hole than most bottles. I think that's what she is referring to.

I agree with Lisa. I am pretty sure she is not referring to the Baby Safe Feeder but to the type of bottle she mentioned.
