View Full Version : Homemade Baby Food - Am I Doing Something Wrong??

Hmmmmm. There isn't a food my DS won't inhale at first sight EXCEPT anything I offer him that hasn't come from a box or jar. :( About a month ago I tried food-processed cantalope, and today I tried fork-mashed avocado. No dice. I have been mixing his cereals pretty thick too, so I'm not thinking that it's a consistency thing. It's makes me nervous that maybe they ARE spiking pre-made baby food with sugar or something?? Thoughts anyone?

TIA!

I'll preface this by saying my little guy barely eats any solids and only likes bananas (fork mashed - we're doing homemade too), so no real experience here, but have you tried offering the same stuff you've done jarred? Since they don't offer cantaloupe or avocado jarred, maybe it's just *those* foods, and nothing to do with whether they are fresh or jarred? I'd try to pick a fav or his and make some fresh to see what he does.

That's a really good point. Come to think of it, he likes apples both jarred and "IRL".......I'll make a point to do that!
