My son just turned 6 months today, and we have been giving solids for a about 2-3 weeks now (rice/oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots). Just added apples today. My question is, how do you know when they have had enough. I started with just a tablespoon or two of cereal and have increased slowly. My son also still nurses every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. At his 4 month check, he was still 25th percentile for weight (adn 80something for height!) He is definitely chunking up a bit now and I am worried that I am overfeeding him. Tonight, he had oatmeal - about 4-5T?? Most of a jar of sweet potatoes, and then still acted hungry.....cried when I stopped feeding. So I got out some apples. He ate a few T of that and I finally decided I HAD to stop. About 30 min later, DH came home and picked him up and he threw up all over the place. Did I overfeed him? Or was this a reaction to the apples? Pedi told me he would turn his head and act disinterested when full, but he has yet to do this.
HELP!!!
