Hello,
I was wondering, is it ok to add freshly expressed breast milk to some that is stored in the refrigerator?
I pumped some this morning and the disposable sachet is only half full. I stored it in the fridge and wanted to fill it up this afternoon. Is this ok?

Thanks,
Rashmi

yup, should be fine. i pump 3x a day into the same bottle that gets stored in a cooler. you just don't want to add fresh (body temp) to frozen because it will thaw some of it.

I did read somewhere that you shouldn't combine milks of dissimilar temperatures. So, as long as you pre chill the new milk to be about the same temp as the older stuff, I don't think that there are any problems. Just make sure that you consider the whole batch as old as the oldest milk in there.

I do it all the time and haven't noticed any problems with the milk.

I add new milk to a refrigerated bottle if it's all pumped the same day. I have never had a problem with it.

yes, you can add to it. See the article here:
