I am drinking chamomille tea at niht to soothe DS's tummy, but I don't know how long it takes for him to actually get any benefits. I Love the taste and will drink it either way, just wondering. :)

I would love to know the answer to this question as well, as I'm quite new to breastfeeding. Hopefully we get a response!!

(I'll do some research and if I come up with the answer I'll post it here!)

According to one of the lactation consultants at my local hospital, food/drink goes almost immediately into your breastmilk. There were a couple of gals in my breastfeeding support group who would drink while nursing, thinking that would be the best time. They thought it would take a while for the alcohol to get into their system, but would be out of it by the time the nursed again. The lactation consultant told them that they were probably giving their baby the same level of alcohol they were drinking!
