DD is 14 months today and does pretty good with chewing just about everything. We gave very small apple chunks and she choked pretty bad on it. It was pretty scary and I felt like a terrible mother. Those of you with older children, when did you feed apple chunks?

James just turned 16 months, and we first gave them to him about a month ago, I guess. I give him a big piece or slice of peeled apple, and he nibbles little pieces off it. I was scared he might swallow little chunks whole. So far it's been okay, but I am still a little nervous with the apples.

DD is also 14 months and we tried a small chunk a few weeks ago and she choked on it too- luckily she was able to spit it up. She does fine with the jarred graduate apple chunks, but I'd love to give her fresh apple. My friend suggested grated apples, or if you have the Pampered Chef's apple peeler thing-a-ma-jig. We're going to try that sometime soon.
