Earth's Best Expiration Date Warning

Today I happened to glance at the Earth's Best baby food expiration date on one of the jars and it said 20 Jan 2004! Three others had the same date. A warning to all that use Earth's Best-- be sure to check the expiration date when purchasing and using their baby food. Their expiration dates are earlier on shelves than Beech Nut (didn't compare to Gerber but probably same result). This is probably because they have less preservatives in the jars. For example, my EB jars said Jan 2004, March 2004, Oct, Nov. 2004. All the Beech nut brands said 2005 or 2006.
I still prefer to use EB but will now make sure to check the expirations and use the earlier ones first.

Last week I had one that expired Feb 2003! Alex wasn't even born then, so I certainly wasn't stocking up on baby food. Ick. I only noticed the expiration date because I was having trouble getting the lid off. I am now religously checking the lids on all of them.
