Ds is getting over a bug and I need some vegetable suggestions. Are there any that are binding? I think he's going to disown me if I continue to put bananas, applesauce and toast in front of him.

White potatoes are, I think. If he is on the tail end of it, though, I wouldn't worry too much about restricting the diet and let him eat small amounts of whatever he wants. A friend was told by one doctor that children who eat a regular diet gain weight back more quickly. I still stick to a BRAT-like diet in the worst part of a bug, but towards the end I just let him eat what he wants.

What about some plain rice? My mom always gave that to me when I was a kid because she said it was binding...I don't know if it's ok for infants...but I don't really see why not. Kayla eats rice cereal and puffed rice...I don't see why plain 'ol regular rice would be a problem, but I'm still new to the food thing... :)

Jamie -
You know what you're talking about. ;) I talked to my mom this afternoon and that's one thing she suggested. We're going to try it tomorrow. I did, also, come up with a variation on toast; waffle strips! BTW, my mom said veggies in general are not a good idea at this point. But, I did a little bit of research this afternoon and it did mention that avacodo (I think it's a vegetable) could be good too.
