When to introduce a food that DH is allergic to?

DH is allergic to bananas. They severely upset his stomach. I've been very cautious to not give them to DD, but I'm wondering if I should let her try a little bit. It seems like everything has banana in it. I asked the med student at the peds. about it and he said that as long DH didn't have an anaphylactic (sp?) reaction that it would be fine to give them to her. I just don't want to be changing diarreah diapers for three days if she's allergic to bananas too.

I tend to agree with the med student you talked to. If bananas caused an analphylactic response in your DH I think there'd be more reason for concern about introducing them. Regardless, I would wait until Martie is at least a year + (much older if there was a history of a serious reaction) before introducing a food that either DH or you have any kind of sensitivity to.

you would probably just get the schuyler reaction. instant diaper rash. try a little one time, and if you get an instant rash, you'll know to hold off.
