Help! I will be attending a wedding in a couple of weeks and am having a hard time finding a dress to wear. Not only am I 24 weeks pregnant, I am also only 5'0" tall, which creates my problem! I did try on a few things at Motherhood, but didn't find anything suitable that fit. I would like something sort of dressy that I could also wear to my showers in a couple of months. I'd rather not do black, but I will if I have to! I'm just running into a lot of problems because I'm so petite. Most things that are sleeveless are way too big under the arms, so that doesn't work. A deep neckline doesn't work on me either. I'd love to find something feminine with maybe cap sleeves and an empire waist, preferably short, that will accomodate an ever-growing belly! Does anyone have any suggestions of where to look, IRL or online? Hopefully without spending a fortune? I'm kind of afraid to order online, with my fit problems, but the only store we have here is Motherhood, so IRL isn't much better! Is it possible to be short, pregnant, and still look hip???

Try Pea in a pod or Mimi Maternity. They are owned by motherhood but more "upscale".

I also love http://www.babystyle.com Some people have complained they run small, which may be prefect for you! I had some clothes from them that I really liked. Also if you don't already, sign up for the catalog. They have some cute stuff.

I've never bought anything off this site but others have recomended it. http://www.onehotmama.com/

Also don't forget about Gap! I didn't care about Old Navy (they run huge!) but I really lucked out at The Gap and bought a ton of maternity stuff there. http://www.gap.com/asp/mat_directory.asp?wdid=90

Good luck!

and from what i know, if you buy online from the gap or old navy, you can still make returns at the stores. some actually carry maternity IN STORE now (i was surprised to find ones near me that did) but if you can't find one that does, at least returning wouldn't be that bad. see if you can get free shipping and then you're not only saving on that, but tax as well, with no real risk!

Last I checked at Motherhood, I had the same problem...and Mimi was too expensive and actually a bit big as well. I've had luck with Old Navy.com, and in XS, they are right on (do not run big). Unfortunately, I have not found a dress yet as I feel like I'm swimming in all of them, even at 29 wks with a pretty big belly. I resorted to the some under the belly "twill" black pants with a nice dress shirt. A nice sweater/shirt and skirt may also be an option (which I'm still looking for!).

The other great thing about Old Navy and Gap is that you can get free shipping and return anything you didnt like (even if its everything) with ample time, unlike the Motherhood line of stores, so its risk-free!

When I was 30+ weeks I was able to just wear non-maternity dresses as long as they were stretchy. I think I just went a size up from pre-pregnancy size. I'm not even 5'2" & my belly was HUGE.
