I will be a FTM in November. I am almost 6 months and my current bras are getting a little uncomfortable. I thought I would invest in a bra that might be useful for nursing, as opposed to buying a regular old bra at this point. I thought I would try the Elita because 1. I tend to be small and 2. I prefer to not invest in a Bravado or Yes bra until I have a better idea of how big I might get. So, I was a 34A pre-pregnancy. I still wear my pre-preg bras. I am falling out of them and would guess that I am now a B cup. My rib cage has not expanded much at all as I have just now moved to the last set of hooks on my bra (used to use the middle set of hooks). So the problem is, what band size should I get? Will I for sure expand to a 36? When my milk comes in will I be a 38? If I get a 36 and shrink, will it be too big? I know nobody can really answer these questions, but any advice based on your experience would be helpful. I think I would rather get a smaller size since I can always use an extender.

I can't help with some of that, but the Yes! bra is pretty darn cheap and there is someone on eBay who sells them even cheaper. They are also not a one-size deal so I would think if you got a size that fits now it will stretch a bit to fit later too. I would think that might be the most inexpensive way to go. They're not the most supportive bras, but they may work. You can't use an extender since it's all one piece, but it is rather stretchy.

The seller's eBay name is "breastfeedingisbest" and she sells the Yes! bra for $13.99 plus shipping.

Sorry for any typos--typing with kiddo onboard.

Anyone else? I know there are other Elita fans out there.

Thanks, Debbie. I couldn't find that seller when I searched. Is she always selling Yes bras, or does she come and go?

I would get a few bras that will fit you now and know that you may need to get a few more later in your pregnancy or when your milk comes in. There's just no way to know exactly what you'll need when you've still got three months to go, and there's no sense being uncomfortable. I loved the Elita bras. If I were you, I'd order some 36 bands now in the microfibre. If you grow out of them, know that you'll eventually shrink back down and use them again. They're so reasonably priced that it's really worth it to go ahead and get them to fit now. My favorite place to get them was www.sierrablue.com. HTH!

I bought an Elita and just got it a couple of days ago. I got a 36 in the cotton. I thought from what I read that some people thought it gave more coverage than the microfiber. Based on my shape I thought the cotton would be a good choice. I like it, very comfortable.

Sorry I just saw this thread! I'm a huge EC fan. I was a 34B before kids, and used a 36 with DS. I'm using 38s now with the twins. I've found that the cotton provide less coverage might be slightly more irritating to raw nipples, but the microfiber don't have the same longevity. But I really don't think you can go wrong either way. I'm hooked on the hook-free design.

Good luck!

I like the look (and price!) of the Elita crossovers but they don't look (on the website) like they are supportive enough to wear out of the house? I am wondering though if they would be the perfect choice for nighttime bras for me - definitely looks like they would be easy to nurse in at night when I'm barely awake - just pull to the side. Is this true? Have you all found that the support is enough to wear as an everyday bra out and about? (I'm used to wearing underwire) Also - is the material pretty thin? I prefer to have a little padding, esp when it's cold outside, to avoid, um, embarassing situations, you know :) TIA!

I wore these pretty much exclusively, in and out. They had enough support for me as a D cup. They're not lined, no, but I used breast pads early on and then afterwards didn't care much. :)

(Cross-posting w/ the sierrablue thread)
I've noticed many postings about the Elita being good for small busts.

I was hoping to take advantage of the great deal on sierrablue... based on my self-taken measurements (following the directions on the site), I think I need 36E.

So, the question is: will this bra fit?

Many thanks!
