just realized i have nothing that i can squeeze into for Christmas service and also for dd's christening jan 8.

i've been looking at expressiva's little black nursing dress, does anyone have it? any other suggestions? my style is ann taylor all the way... except i look awful in crossover tops since my girls are so huge. kinda hookerish...

i have never seen a need for nursing clothes/tops, but i do see a need for a dress to be made for nursing, since i can't just lift up the hem over my boob, y'know?

obviously i'll have to upgrade shipping at this point. any codes?

www.motherwear.com has a handful of selections, and a code right on the home page to upgrade to 2 day shipping for free. I've never been thrilled with the quality, but since you are kinda desperate and really only *need* it for the two dates, it may be worthwhile.

What about a skirt or pants and a nice sweater or jacket instead of a dress? I had to dress for my 2 DSs brises when they were 8 days old and I found that a nice skirt, blouse and jacket (non-nursing) were the most comfortable because I could dress in layers and also because I could re-use the pieces. I actually wore one of my nicest jackets (undone over a nice top) at DS2's bris and everyone told me that I looked great (which is SO nice to hear 8 days PP, LOL).

I recently bought two nursing dresses from expressiva and I like both of them. One is a wrap style, but not terribly low cut. The other is an empire waist style. Here are pictures of me in them. I really like the style of the nursing opening on the wrap style tops...it looks like the nursing opening on the little black dress is sort of along the princess seam and it might be more obviously "nursing" looking. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and fabrics.

OMG, thanks so much for taking those pics -- you daughter is adorable! It's really helpful to see that they look "normal." I think I might get all three (the two you have plus the LBD) and see what fits....

thanks again!

I know it's probably too late now, but there's another good site for dresses and such and it's http://nursingmamas.com/e_commerce/cart.php?m=category_list&c=712

I got their nursing tank dress for a wedding last summer and it was great! :)

I have a question for Jacqui and anyone else who's ordered a dress from nursingmamas.com...

How "concealed" or noticeable are the zippered nursing openings? Does it scream "nursing dress" :)? I miss wearing casual dresses, and it seems that most nursing dress offerings are on the dressier side.

I have my eye on the hooded nursing dress in particular.
