Did you wait until you absolutely needed them? or did you start buying ahead of time? My jeans are getting a little tight in the waist and it's starting to make me look kind of funny... not quite pg, but just like I'm wearing jeans that are too tight in the waist. So I've been hiding under sweaters, etc. But now that it's spring (is it warm yet??), the sweaters will be gone pretty soon... I'm at 11w, so pretty soon, we'll be spreading the news...

I bought maternity pants around 12 weeks because my old jeans wouldn't fit anymore! I didn't need maternity shirts for about another month. I was able to get away with bigger shirts for a while but now I need the maternity shirts.

with my first child I waited til I absolutely needed them, which was about 4 months. With my second child I didn't really need to buy much since I still had lots from my first PG so I started wearing them around 10-12 weeks. With this one, it had been a LONG time since I had been PG so I needed everything. I had bought a few things before I even got PG because we had been TTC so long. I started wearing at about 8-10 weeks this time. I say buy a few items early so you aren't waiting til you are uncomfortable and have to buy stuff. Just a couple pairs of stretchy pants and tees and maybe some shorts or stretchy skirts to start. One thing I had to buy right away was a new bra. Within 6 weeks. Luckily I only went up one size!!

I say go ahead and get some comfie jeans with a demi panel to be comfortable! They may not fit you the entire pg but you'll wear them often enough to justify the purchase. With #1 I was in maternity at 3 months. This time, I was able to wait until 5 months (strange, I know) but would have gotten them out at 3 months if I was uncomfortable.

I made the mistake of buying clothes in a bigger size at about 10 weeks instead of buying maternity clothes. I quickly grew out of those and had to buy just as many winter maternity clothes, so I feel really bad about wasting that money now. I'd move straight into maternity clothes now if you are uncomfortable. Most of my maternity clothes look look like regular sizes, as long as the panel is covered.
