View Full Version : Swimsuit - where to buy this time of year?

I'm 22 weeks and we are going to a hotel in a couple of weeks that has an indoor pool. I would love to do some floating in there. :-)

Last pregnancy I borrowed a suit, but don't have it anymore. I'm not huge yet, so I might even be able to get away with a larger than normal non-maternity. Problem is, it's January and I'm not sure that anyone even has swimwear!

I saw the one on KidSurplus - I'm sure I could find some toys to make the shipping worthwhile - but I'd rather buy in person. Not thrilled with Motherwear policies, so I'd like to avoid them if possible. Any other ideas?

I would think you'd be able to find one at a higher-end store or line that sells "resort wear." This is about the time of year for those lines to come out.

And if you don't like it, you can return at your local Sears!

I just ordered one from Old Navy. I haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on the quality.

OOOHHHH Thank YOU!!!

I could have sworn I saw them there, but I spent an hour trying to find the overstocks on their website!

I went ahead and ordered one, even though I am at the larger end of the size range for what they have left. I figure it's worth trying so I don't have to trudge around to 10 different stores looking for something.

I know, I was looking for the overstocks site as well on their main site and couldn't find a link. So, I searched for one of the older threads with a link to something in overstocks and bookmarked it. It's strange that it's not on their main site anymore... maybe they split it off or something.

You're welcome by the way! Glad to help.

BTW, when I showed the choices to DH he mumbled some comment about looking like a large piece of shrubbery.... NOT the thing to say to a pregnant woman. (I really don't care what they look like since I'll probably wear it 1-2 times in front of people I don't know...)

I bought one at Target in January last year. I really liked it. I swam a lot and it held up well.

Target has a bunch of suits in the juniors department and I saw a bunch at Motherhood maternity this weekend. Just in case your LE one doesn't work or the "shrubbery" look isn't you...

There are TONS on ebay for less than $10 and lots that are new w/tags for less than $20. I have my eye on a few 'cause we swim a lot.
