Does anyone have any recommendations for a nursing bra for smaller sizes? Prior to pregnancy I was barely a 34A.

Thanks!

Susan

Hi!
I'm in your same boat! :-)

My favorite bra for prenatal & nursing was Japanese Weekend's Hug prenatal bra. I also bought their nursing bra (Hug line), but because I'm small, separating the cups was more of a pain, esp. when using nursing pads. I sold it pretty quickly on BBB swap!

So, I stuck to the prenatal bra which allowed for inc/decreasing breast size & I just pulled it up & was done with it. Also, I liked that by pulling up the bra, I didn't have any breastmilk dripping down onto my bra, which I totally hated. I'm ordering some more right now!

I'm a 34 wannabe A pre-preg. I ended up buying a Melinda G nursing bra (I think size medium?). The one with the 3-hooks for adjusting the cups. I also had the non-adjustable cup one with the plastic clippy hooks, but I didn't like that one as much.

good luck.

I got mine at Target, they are a sports bra style that give a lot of access opening, which I liked a lot.

I'm interested in the responses to this thread as well... I was an almost 34B before DD was born, then was a 32 barely A. This pregnancy I think I am really only a B, something it seems is freakish if you try to find a bra at most stores - they seem to expect you will be at least a C or D!

Last time I didn't really find anything that I loved - I had one Bravado that was just ok, and another bra that I bought at the hospital shop that I always felt was a little too big, although they "professionally" fitted me for it (I think the problem was that they just didn't have anything in a B).

I did just buy a couple of bras from Target - Gilligan & O'Malley I think. They are a little more embellished than a sports-type bra - I think the tag says they are sleep bras or something. But they come in a B cup, and seem to offer a little more snug support. I haven't tried them for nursing (due in 2 weeks), but they look like they will work. And not too huge of an investment.

I was in the same boat. I have Medela, Bravado, the JP hug bras and Anita. My favorite nursing bras are the Anita bras. I can get you the style codes if you need them. They are fantastic, very comfortable, come in the basic shades. Basically fit like a real bra. Slightly pricey, but worth it if you plan to bf for awhile. I went up to a 36C/38B with my first one. My second one, I was at a 36B. I'm actually about to have to buy a couple new ones to hold me till I wean my 8.5 months old, since I'm back to an A cup. It was nice having bigger cup sizes to fill out clothes for awhile! Alas, I think I got even smaller after I weaned DS. Darn!

Yes, I'd love the style codes. I've never heard of Anita-- where did you buy them?

It doesn't seem fair that BF can make us even SMALLER than we originally were! What's up with that?!?!?!

Ah, yes, BF'ing makes the smaller busted, even smaller and saggier! Not that there's much there anyhow to be affected by gravity. But after nursing DC#1, they actually pointed down south. Not fair! LOL!

Anyhow, here's the code of the Anita's that I wear: Anita 5075, Anita 5067. I love them. Seamless, and very comfortable!

You can find more about Anita's bras at www.anita.com
You have to select the US version and then manuver through the Anita maternity selection to get to the nursing bras.

I also have a underwire Anita 5041, gives fantastic shape and lift. I wear it as a regular bra even after nursing.

I buy anita bras at a locally owned lingerie shop called Harps in Birmingham, Michigan. I've also ordered them online from Birth and Baby. Here's the link:

And also online from Mommies and Poppies. They have great customer service. Here's a link as well:

Also, if you have any well endowed BF'ing friends Anita also makes great supportive nursing bras, at least according to my friend who's always around the DD, EE c sizes during BF'ing.

Just a note, I HATE my Anita that I spent over $60 for at Nordstroms. It is very uncomfortable. My favorite nursing bras came from Motherhood for less than $20. I have tried lots of brands and the simple Motherhood ones were the best for me.

I was maybe a 36 B before DD and then about a 34A before DS. Both times I wore my JW Hug nursing bras constantly. So comfy and easy access. I hated the snaps, hooks and attachments of all the others I had. I also liked the access from the bottom of the boob as opposed to exposing more of the top when nursing.

I learned about Yes! bras from here, and I love them! They are similar to Bravados, but much more affordable and the band doesn't roll up.

I purchased them on ebay from a wonderful seller - excellent customer service (she really wants to make sure the fit is totally right).

Another vote for the Yes! bra. While nursing I'm about a 34-36 C. I think they would be very comfortable for smaller sizes.

I like that since they are not as expensive I can buy more. Between leaking and a nursing baby that likes to dribble milk I find I need to wash my bras more often.
