Since it's already approximately 7,000 degrees outside here, I need to go shopping for shorts. Pre-DS, I bought shorts in the junior's department and at places like Old Navy since I'm pretty thin. Well, now that I have the lovely post-baby stretch marks on my thighs (nobody told me about stretch marks on the thighs...grumble, grumble...), the shorter shorts won't work anymore (not to mention that I'm a mommy now - albeit a young one - and don't want to look like a teenager). But I don't want to look like a granny in those long, pleated khaki things either.

Where can I find "grown-up" shorts?

JCrew has the best shorts!! I have these in a bunch of colors, they seem to have them every summer...

I also have these and they're a great fit!

I have found good ones at Ann Taylor (and ATL might have some). I don't usually wear shorts (I like skirts and dresses for comfort) but I seem to have a lot of ones from Macy's. I just grab handfuls from dif't brands and go for what fits best.

I found some cute ones at Ann Taylor Loft yesterday. Mostly in khaki, browns and a cute orange. They have several styles and I thought although they are basic they are pretty in style and not old ladyish in any way.

I live in Florida, so shorts are a staple of my wardrobe. I actually bought these Old Navy shorts in three colors
http://www.oldnavy.com/browse/product.do?cid=5456&pid=435349&scid=435349012
(green, white, and brown...and now that I see them on sale ($15) I might go back for another pair).

My legs are short and Bermuda shorts, while cute on many people, look awful on me. On the other hand, I am too old (37,) and frankly don't have the legs for, the tiny short shorts. I find a 5" inseam to be the perfect length...not too long or too short.

I have a pair of these Old Navy shorts that I'm liking. I'm planning to go back for another pair or two.

I love Old Navy for shorts. I don't think there's any reason to stop shopping there now that you are a mom.

I think I might order a couple of these since they are an online exclusive. I like the 7" length!

Yeah, I still like Old Navy. I just used to buy the short shorts...not anymore, lol! ;)
