Fashionistas, help me find a shoe I'm looking for to go with this dress. Tonight I bought a sweet little dress in royal blue from the Gap to wear when I meet my DH for his R&R mid-deployment (in Europe). I love the shoe that's in the picture, but I'd like it with more of a heel (my legs are short--30" inseam--so I need some height), and maybe even more substance to the long strap running up the center of the foot. The only catch is that it has to be less than $60, preferably less than $50. I was thinking gold or silver would look great.

I like these, but not for ~$100.

Also, something that laces around the ankle a bit could be cute. Ideas? I think b/c of the delicate laces of the top of the dress, a wedge or espadrille would look too heavy.

Thanks for any help. I have a couple of weeks until I leave, so time isn't critical.

no fashionista here, but fwiw, ita with your instinct to go with something dainty to match the 'feel' of the dress.

see if either of these strike your fancy:

and this one's a tiny splurge over your price range but so cute, i couldn't pass it up:

I bought that same dress! And have been wondering what to do about shoes, too. I've got some gold strappy flats from Old Navy that I'm thinking of wearing, but they've only got a 1/2 inch heel, and I'm thinking that's too short.

I got a What's What catalogue in the mail and I thought this one was totally cute. They even have it in blue and now it is on sale! Lots of these look nice and comfy.

ETA: The waverunner would be cute, too.

A shoe that ties around the ankle will make your legs look shorter so I would avoid that. Although the dress is dainty, it is casual so I would not go with too high of a heel. Little slides or a kitten heel would be cute if you don't want to go with casual sandals.
