Looking for a nice dress for DH's graduation party?

My DH is finally done with his residency this month and his department is going to have a graduation party(dinner) for him. I have been looking for a nice dress to wear. I don't want to wear a black dress. Looking for something more colorful, sassy, yet elegant and sophisticated. Any idea? It will be at the country club - so, the cocktail dress will do. My hair is in the bob style. I am still thinking what I should do with my hair.

I just bought a dress for the same thing (although my husband isn't done yet, but we have to go every year) at Ann Taylor. It's not super fancy but very nicely made and looks very elegant. They had some really nice dresses when I was there. I bought a chocolate brown floral with a deep v-neck and empire waist line. Good luck and congratulations to your husband! We are three years in with three more to go and I can't wait to be done.

I was just in The Limited yesterday and saw the most stunning dark emerald-teal, cocktail length, strapless dress with a tie around the waist. It's gorgeous and a good price at $78. They also have some really pretty dresses on their sale racks...a big 30-70% clearance sale is coming up June 18th, but it's all an extra 40% off in my area. I wish I could show a picture...it has a raw silk sheen.
