Brown shoes with a black coat?

I mixed blacks and browns all the time. I think this "rule" is getting to be as outdated as wearing nylons. ;-)

I bought a brown winter coat this year and wear it with any shoes I want. If it were a suit jacket and I was wearing it all day, I would stick with brown and brown. I figure you don't have to match your clothes to your outerwear - I would have to get rid of all my black shoes then and that isn't happening!
