Our kitchen is extremely small and crowded. And we like the looks of the wooden high chairs which seem to be smaller than most of the highly recommended plastic ones. The Baby Bargains Book referred to Simmons and Childcraft as makers of wooden high chairs. However, when I go to their websites, I see no reference to high chairs. Nor can I find them for sale.

We have seen a few new wood high chairs (not Simmons or Childcraft) for sale on ebay, which we will be exploring.

Criteria that we are using in our search for the "perfect" wood high chair include: few nooks and crannies for food to lodge, a between-the-legs post or strap, safety harness (preferably removable for washing), and general stability and safety.

I don't envision having the baby in the high chair except for feeding solids beginning somewhere around 6 mos. (That is, no sitting in the high chair for playing, or bottle feeding, etc.)

Are we deluding ourselves that we will be happy with this? (Remember our very small kitchen!)

Thanks!
