Chicco Mama High Chair? Does the safety bar that goes between their legs

attach to the tray? Or is it built into the chair? I like the fact that the Fisher Price safety bar is built into the chair...any thoughts on this?

It's built into the tray. However the strap for the 5 point harness goes between his legs, so he's safe even when we don't use the tray. I feel pretty comfortable with the strap instead of the bar. Right now he's only 5 months old and we don't use the tray yet, and I haven't had any concerns at all.

It's attached to the seat belt 5 point harness on my chair. The chair gets enought food stuck into tiny crevices so I would think you could do without another plastic piece. By the way, my DD is small for her age and with the insert she fits fine in the chair without an attached safety bar.
