Now I have some good suggestions on books I need help with CD's. The post about Sandra Boynton's CD made me think we need some help in this area. We have some really nice lullabies, but need help with fun ones.

There were some great suggestions in this old thread - I had to dig into the archives to find it, but here it is!

I agree - I adore the Peter, Paul and Mommy. I also really like Sharon, Louis and Braham (sp?).

Raffi! His first album is the best (although I'm partial to it because I listened to it myself as a child).

Sesame Street Platinum Favourites is also good if your child is into that show, and it will also bring back memories for you.

My daughter also loves a number of Beatles songs (When I'm 64, Yellow Submarine, Ob La Di, Ob La Da, etc.) and I just play the regular CDs for her.

Our favorites our Veggie Tales and Ralph's World. Even DH, who thinks he is too cool for children's music, loves Ralph's World. One of my best tips, though, is to check out some CD's at your library before buying. Sometimes something that seems like it is a sure winner turns out to be a dud. I never buy anything before I hear it anymore.

DD loves one of the compilation CDs from PBK--i think it is called "First Steps." DH and I love it too. The three of us dance to it all the time.

Anything by Trout Fishing In America; but especially their CD entitled "Family Music Party".

We love, love, love a cd by John Lithgow (yes, the guy from 3rd Rock!). It's called "Singin' in the Bathtub". We got it when my first son was about 2 and we've all loved it ever since. The songs are silly and catchy and fun to sing. I believe they are almost all old Broadway show tunes (but most of them I'd never heard before).

Another one that my kids like is Disney's "Silly Songs". I believe Disney has a couple of these that are all pretty good. Just old songs like "Splish Splash" and "Purple People Eater". I believe ours is the "More Silly Songs" cd.

Here are the ones we love:

**Raffi CDs (Singable Songs for the Very Young is the favorite)
**3CD Toddler Set from Amazon (Toddler Favorites, Silly Songs, ...)
**Beethoven's Wig (Richard Perlmutter is great...this is my favorite, but Abbie will probably like it more when she's older)

I second "Family Dance" and "Songs for Wiggleworms!!!!" Dan Zanes has two other albums that are also very good, "Rocketship Beach" and "Night Time."
