I just found a very nice brand that does wooden toys and can't believe their prices...they are called "Melissa & Doug" and their products don't have a web site listed but they do have a phone number.

They are out of conneticut 1-800-284-3948

I bought a train (3 car train) for about $13 last week at Steinmart...and today got a rainbow stacking tower for $3.99 at Baby Depot...it has 7 rings topped with an adorable red wooden ball on top. The base teeters...

If you get some please share the news!!!!

Neve, check out your local Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Ross for this brand. I have several of their things that I got at those stores, including puzzles and some other toys.

Also, Zany Brainy/Right Start stores usually have a good selection of their things (at full price of course).

HTH,

I have a number of their things. Their website is http://www.lcitoys.com/ but all it is is a homepage that lists and 800#. Try searching under Lights, Camera, Interaction to find these toys.

Yes. The ABC book shown on Neve's link I just got at TJ Maxx a couple of weeks ago.

Sarah, I have heard of Lights, Camera, Interaction! but I do have a wooden puzzle in the same style made by Melissa and Doug. Do you know if they are related?

We have some of their wooden puzzles and they are AWESOME! I LOVE that some of them have the same picture underneath where the puzzle piece goes. :D

There stuff is great!

We have a barn set that you build.

A fruit and veg set that comes with a wooden knife and cutting board; the items are divided by velcro and I love the noise it makes when you cut. (My son is also starting to say would you like "one-third of a watermelon!)

I am waiting for the pizza set to show up at Marshalls.

Sorry Neve!! I bought this one last summer, I think. I saw it in a magazine and ordered it that night! It is still in a box in Colin's closet waiting for DH to hang his shelves (DH finished the shelves about a month ago, finally).

I bought the pizza set from Toys R Us for my DD couple months ago. She is 18 month now and she loves it. We also received a fruit set as a gift, which she loves as well. I wanted to get another fruit set for my niece but couldn't find it anywhere. Where did you buy the fruit and veg set? Thx

No--that's not the one they're talking about. I saw it at Marshall's. It comes in a wooden box covered by a zippered plastic and cloth (I think cloth) bag.

I found a link to a picture online--never heard of or used this store; they just had a picture of the toy...

I have a similar set by Plan Toys/Brio. Though I own several toys by Lights, Camera, Interaction/Melissa & Doug, I think the Plan Toys sets are better quality. I will say the sets from Melissa & Doug have more "stuff" in them. Consequently, I think there's kind of a trade off with either brand.

I love Melissa and Doug toys! I only hope that baby likes them as much as we do! I told my mom that Melissa and Doug and Manhattan Baby are allowed in the house for now, but nothing else...to prevent stupid toy overload.

I do have the Pound and Roll M&D which I'm not happy with. My husband can't even pound the balls through the holes...it's probably just a defect, but he's going to have to sand down the holes so that they're wider.

I used to be a preschool teacher before Joshua was born, and we had alot of these toys and puzzles in our classrooms. You can find many of these things in a teacher supply store. I have two near me that carries them.

We got the classic hammer and pegs set at ROSS. We also got a great 3 tier stacker set at Right Start (about 19.00). Very fun for our 15 mth. old.

Target packages some of the same toys under their Little Tree name. After Christmas last year, I got a couple of puzzles for just under $2 that were sold as Melissa and Doug at Zany Brainy for $10.

Matthew received a set of Melissa & Doug blocks as a gift for his birthday. The Toy Chest in Cary carries their toys as well.
