Lowering the Mattress

Sophie's 7 months, almost sitting up. I still have her crib mattress on the highest setting.

When do you lower it?

We lowered it when Colin was close to sitting up on his own. We went down to the middle position, but ended up going to the lowest position about a week or two later. I'd suggest just going straight to the lowest position. Then you are ready for anything!

I actually just put Andrew's mattress on the lowest level this morning. He has been crawling for about 9 days now and today he started trying to climb the bottom step on the stairs so I figured it was time! Previously it had been at the middle setting where it had been since he started sitting tripod.

Basically, if you think there is ANY chance Sophie might try to pull up on the crib you want to lower it. Sitting sounds like a good indication that pulling up could come any time!
