I want to buy a jumper for a 3 month old.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Are there more than one type
Thanks.

i like my graco bumper jumper. it has a "tray" around the front that is super handy for catching spit up! and it has a bumper all around so that baby won't hit the edge of the doorway.

Dori-

I have the Graco one also. I think it was $40 at BRU.

Three months is a little young though. I think the bare minimum was 4m unless the baby has unusually good head control and is already able to sit up a little bit.

We put Sophie in at 5m and she still had a little bit of a hard time in the beginning.

Do you mean sit up without any thing behind him, just sitting alone?

When did you put baby in it .Schuyler is exactly one month older than Michael.

We had to put a rolled up blanket behind Sophie the first few times because the seat is just so wide. Another Mommy I know used to use a roll of toilet paper!

Unless the baby can kind of sit up on his/her own, s/he will just fall to the side and slump over (which tends to make breathing more difficult).

You can always buy it, try it out, and if the baby isn't ready and hold onto it for a few weeks and try again.

Another vote for the Graco bumper jumper. We didn't get it until DD was 6 mo old, but I was able to put DS in it at 4 months (he had good head/neck control but was not yet able to sit alone). Three months is probably a bit early, but as another poster said, you can hold it and keep trying. Both my kids LOVED it :)!!
