It's time to shop for new toys! I'm looking for a play center type toy that Joseph can stand up and walk around. Something like a kitchen, workshop, or store. I'd prefer one without sounds and lights; I'd like it to run on his imagination. Any suggestions? TIA!

I have no real personal experience with this, but my friend's 2 year-old loves it. It's the Little Tikes Home Improvements 2-Sided Workshop. http://www.littletikes.com/toyfinder/default.asp?URL=/toyfinder/products.asp?category=10&C=CAT When we've been over there, I've looked at it and it looks fun. There are some relatively small parts like nuts and bolts. You use them to hang shutters and put up the little fence in the back. I think it's neat that you can actually use the included tools and hardware to "build" something. As far as I know, it doesn't have any lights or sounds. HTH

I'm a big fan of those big wooden fun stations, like this one at babystyle:

I have a Little Tikes kitchen set that I got at a consignment store that doesn't have sound and lights. The newer version from LT does. Also, try an easel. They are great for coloring, and for target practice. :)
