wasn't going to have a mirror because car seat techs scared us, but she cries so much while alone back there and others have said it helps. but are there any that are safely attached to an suv seat (leather) without having to pin holes into the leather?

Hi Tammy,
I have a mirror that straps on to the headreast with nylon webbing so you don't have to use pins. It was a hand-me-down so I don't know for certain where it was purchased, but I think it is the one shown here:

Also, read the reviews- there's one from a state trooper saying that he feels like it's a safe choice, so that might help you feel a little better about using one. :)

I used this mirror on the leather headrest in my suv. It has a nice long strap to wrap around the headrest. I've seen them at Target and at Babies R Us. I admit that it's rather tacky, but DS seemed to like the bright colors on it better than the plain rectangular mirrors.

I have the same mirror as Sara. We too have leather seats and I didn't want to harm the leather. I originally tried one that fastened around the headrest, but I couldn't get it to stay tight and I couldn't get the correct angle. So, I got the above one from Fisher Price and attached it to the tether anchors above the headrest. With it clipped there, I have no concerns that it will fly off and become a projectile. The only thing is that when you use the tether anchor, the mirror mounts upside down which is rather strange. There are one or two others that also mount via the tether anchors.

That's the one I have, too. Works fine with leather seats. I used to have the Baby In Sight mirror, but found that it didn't attach very securely. It more sort of sits on the headrest. The FP one hooks on, and with the hook fastened and the headrest all the way down, it's not going anywhere.
