I'm sure this has been asked but I couldn't find it on searching. My girls 1st birthday is only a month away. Any ideas for presents? Family is asking.
TIA

Try searching this forum using the keyword birthday - there are quite a few threads on this topic.

How about a doll from the Corolle Collection, they seem so simple and beutiful. Something your little girl could really become attached to.

Here's a list I made for my SIL. HTH

Little People Ramps Around Garage http://www.fisher-price.com/us/littlepeople/products/default.asp?section=cit&id=21951

Little People Noah’s Ark (there are additional sets of animals too) http://www.fisher-price.com/us/littlepeople/products/default.asp?section=any&id=17907

Little People Animal Sounds Farm (and/or some of the other farm sets) http://www.fisher-price.com/us/littlepeople/products/default.asp?section=cou&id=21539

Any of the other smaller Little People sets would be fine too

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Playstore – We got this for DS. He really likes it and it will occupy him for a long period of time. However, recently he has started climbing onto the shape sorter area of the toy. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1053668/ctid/17/ls/default

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Kitchen – I was debating between this one and the playstore. I read some reviews of the kitchen and while people generally liked the toy, a lot of people were complaining that all of the shapes fit through all of the openings in the shape sorter which defeated the purpose. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1023519/ctid/17/ls/default

Uncle Goose or Pottery Barn Kids Wooden Blocks (although I saw the PBK ones in person and thought the wood was softer than I’d like) http://ww1.potterybarnkids.com/cat/pip.cfm?words=blocks&src=sch&lst=n203082601%2Cblocks&itm=g15191&grp=15191&cmsrc=Search%2520Box%252Fkeyword%2520

http://www.unclegoose.com/BlocksMain.html

Radio Flyer Wagon – I was thinking either the Pathfinder Wagon http://www.redwagons.com/raflpaplwa.html, the Navigator Wagon http://www.redwagons.com/mod24navwag.html or the All-Terrain Cargo Wagon http://www.redwagons.com/mod29alcarwa.html

Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair (or other chair) - http://ww1.potterybarnkids.com/cat/pip.cfm?words=everywhere%20chair&src=sch&lst=n203082601%2Cchairs&itm=g1510072&grp=1510072&cmsrc=Search%2520Box%252Fkeyword%2520

Deluxe Cozy Convertible by Little Tikes - http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1023594/ctid/17/ls/default

Megablocks or Duplos

Books

Tappy the Turtle (by Fisher Price) http://www.fisher-price.com/us/products/product.asp?id=17869

Ride-Ons – Maybe Chicco Play ‘n Ride Train http://fedderhead.com/chicplaynrid1.html or Playskool Walk ‘n Ride http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=882533&cat=103137&type=5&dept=5427&path=0%3A5427%3A103137

I saw these ride-ons, the Radio Flyer Little Red Fire Engine and the Radio Flyer Little Red Roadster, when I was looking up other links. They look really cute. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1335479/ctid/17/ls/default

Push Walkers – We have the Little Tikes Wide Tracker Activity Walker. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/2190699/ctid/17/ls/default It serves its purpose but it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles and the doors on the front are always coming off. I really like the Radio Flyer Walker Wagon. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/toys/B00002EQBJ/qid%3D1063336260/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-4582259-2943202 If I had seen it earlier, I would have purchased it.

See 'n Say – There are various ones. This is the one that DS got for his birthday. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1654239/ctid/17/ls/default

Shape Sorter – A lot of people like the FP Baby’s First Blocks one and it’s not that expensive http://www.fisher-price.com/us/babyu/product.asp?s=bubrilliant&id=17827 We have one from Discovery Toys. The one from Tupperware (Shape-O) is pretty nice. http://order.tupperware.com/pls/htprod_www/tup_show_item.show_item_detail?fv_item_number=1004 4822000&fv_item_category_code=21000&fv_section=specs&fv_category_page_number=1 There are lots of other ones too.

Curiosity Cube by Earlyears – Very cool http://www.earlyears.biz/E00132showcase.htm

Balls

Any kind of ball drop toy

Toys with handles (DS loves to carry things around)

Little Tikes Buzz About Mailbox http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1054664/ctid/17/ls/default

Shopping Cart http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1881519/ctid/17/ls/default DS loves my old shopping cart at my parents’ house. He pushes it all over the house.

Activity Table – The Leapfrog Leapstart Learning Table has been one of DS’s all-time favorite toys. He has played with it for a long time. http://www.kbtoys.com/genProduct.html/PID/1394399/ctid/17/ls/default Some people also really like the Chicco Flip ‘n Play Table http://www.babyuniverse.com/pro.asp?store=toddler&id=17938&catid=12&secid=11.

Push Toy – DS just got the Thomas the Tank Engine Push Toy and pushes it everywhere. You can use it with or without the handle. http://www.niftycool.com/thomtanentra.html I’m not crazy about the song, but it’s not too annoying either. He does manage to pull the handle off sometimes. I think any push toy would work. There’s also the traditional popcorn popper (although I find that kind of annoying). http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000IZOU/qid=1063337799/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/002-4582259-2943202?v=glance&s=toys

Pull Toy – I really don’t have a recommendation, but DS likes pulling my old toys around at my parents’ house.

BTW, SIL's DS is not yet crawling. If your DD is already pretty mobile/walking, the push walkers and maybe even the activity tables would probably fall off my list.
