I am looking to buy DS a ride-on toy for his upcoming 1st birthday. I really love the nostalgic look and feel of the Radio Flyer brand. Does anyone have any experience with any of the Radio Flyer ride-ons? I was kind of hoping for one that would grow with him, but I don't know if it is possible to find a model that works for him now and will still interest him two years from now.

I was particularly interested in these models:

The fire engine… http://store.yahoo.com/radioflyer/radflyer909l.html
The roadster… http://store.yahoo.com/radioflyer/radflyer8lit.html
The push, pedal, and go trike… http://store.yahoo.com/radioflyer/radflyer44pu.html

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Dana I had asked this same question recently and I think one mybe two gals responded and were happy.

I bought the roadster, classic trike, bike with training wheels and have taken back the trike that is similiar to the one you posted and ordered one that comes wiht a back pack also...

Mine are in boxes in the garage so no input but I feared the classic item might get phased out so I bought them to hold onto :)...

Search back within the last month and you'll see that input if no one responds...

Edited to add Sage's picutre makes my heart go pitter patter...AWESOME Avatar!!!!

I would advise against the push, pedal, and go trike #44 and go with #45. We have #44 and DS can steer the bike a little still, which makes it extremely difficult to for me to push because I'm constantly applying pressure to adjust it so it'll go straight. We called radio flyer a couple of weeks ago and told them that he could steer it a little and they sent a new body for us, but, we still have the same problem. #45 allows the parent to steer, so I imagine that it would be easier.

My DS got a one for his 1st birthday and he loves it! It is not one of those that you are interested in-just a simple little ride-on trike/scooter type thing. No pedals, just a wooden seat, handle bars and wheels. The good news is that it is small so he was able to use it early and now, at 18 mos. he has really gotten the hang of it. Of course, it is not as much of a "grow with you" toy as some of the others but I figure we'll just pass it down to our next child or to a friend. Anyway, the quality seems good and he loves the smooth ride.
