Riley is really getting active, but not yet rolling. He is pretty fussy, so he switches activities a lot. Any suggestions for some new toys????

thanks!

Brooke

If you don't have an exersaucer yet, that would be a good one. Logan started in hers at about that age.

Ditto. Just started DS in the exersaucer this weekend (he is about 4.5 mos.) and he loves it! He still plays on the floor plenty, for tummy time and he does roll pretty well, but I thought he might like to be upright while he played sometimes, and that is what the exersaucer gives him.

I've been thinking about an exersaucer, too. Any brand/model recommendations?

I have the Megasaucer and he seems entertained but not overwhelmed. I was worried maybe there were too many toys on it. He may have been just as happy with a scaled down version, but I never found one IRL. Someone on the boards said Walmart had them for $29, but I was in Target this weekend and just picked up the Megasaucer for $60. It is a long drive to our Walmart and it's hard to go out shopping a lot these days...

There is a "portable" one that flattens down to take up less room...I considered that one but it didn't seem like it got significantly smaller when folded down.

My son is 4 1/2 months old and I just got him the Evenflo Walkaround Entertainer and he loves it!(http://www.evenflo.com/pr/wa/prwa_walk.phtml ) He may have been equally happy or happier with an exersaucer, but he liked the Walkaround Entertainer so much at the store that I decided to get that one (it was the first one I put him in and he wasn't happy to be pulled out of it after 20 minutes!).

Based upon other reviews I've read, it seems that a Bumper Jumper(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005UN05/qid%3D1066022911/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-9104059-6767204) may also be a good thing to buy a 4 or 5-month old. I returned the one I bought, though, because our doorway did not seem wide enough for it to be safely used.

Although it's rated as 6 months and older, I'm also planning on getting a LeapFrog Learning Start Table soon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/imaginarium/B000062XQ8/qid%3D1066023006/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-9104059-6767204). DS enjoyed activating the things on this activity table in the store, and this table will be able to be used for a long time.

Fortunately, I haven't need to buy much recently because DS still is really enjoying many toys he's had since birth, including his Gymini, KNP bouncy seat, Lamaze toys (Celeste, Tucker, crib panel/book), FP sparkling symphony mirror, and soft books.

Good luck with your toy shopping and please post again if you come across things that your son really likes!
