When did you start the Sippy Cup

DS reaches for whatever I am drinking (5 mo.) I have given him sips of water. Sunday I put a little EMB in a cup and he loved it. Is it too early for an occassional sippy cup?

I started giving dd a sippy cup at 5 months (with water) and it took her at least a couple weeks to start drinking out of it well. I read a tip here to remove the valve so your baby will know there's liquid in it and it worked for us.

I'm not an expert but I don't think it's too early for you. DD is still bf and I am planning to start giving cow's milk in a sippy at a year (in addition to bm).

Nate started doing that at about this age. I've read that the bottle should be used on the way to training kids how to use a cup, so I would think that the sooner, the better. That said, Nate loves to sip out of my cup, but is less interested in sippy cups.
