lauren's grandfather sent money to buy one, but i can't find what i want. my friend has pottery barn kids one that they don't sell anymore, similar to this but in wood color. i'd like something like this but not white. maybe i should just get the white...

PBK used to make a really nice wooden one and they would paint the child's name on it. I haven't looked at the catalog in awhile to know if it is still available. It does not have a lid though. Have you checked Land of Nod??? Are there any baby stores/boutiques in your area that sell furniture? You might try there. Good luck.

they don't even make that one anymore, although dh wants a lid. the white one is the only one they make. i wonder if they'll bring any of the others back, or introduce some new ones. the land of nod site is cool...but no toy chest :(

This one comes in different colors:

This one is only $78, so I wonder what it's made of... but it comes in natural or cherry (isn't Lauren's crib cherry?)

Good luck, I've been looking as well, but am not sure what I like yet. Decisions, grrrr.

edited to add: I just looked at the dimensions of the babystyle one and I think the chest is tiny. So THAT'S why it's cheap...

Lola received the toychest from Babystyle from Gramma for her first Xmas. It's made of wood and solidly built. The slamproof hinges are fabulous. Though it's certainly not as big as the one from Posh Tots it's by no means tiny. If it's not big enough you could buy two, one for Lauren's room and one for elsewhere in the house. You'd wind up with more storage space that the Posh Tots toybox provides at about 2/3 the cost.

You might want to check some furniture stores nearby. We just bought one last week from Gothic Cabinet Craft which is a small chain (it was a floor model). We also looked in a few unfinished furniture stores where they had a decent selection.

Hi,

I have one from Ikea that I bought last year for $59. It actually looks really nice.

On the other hand, I find that the toy chest is not the best place to put toys away. I personally really like this from Target:

It's not as nice as the toy box, but it does it job much better, in my opinion. It's really hard to get any toys out from the toy box, and also things tends to go to the bottom and stays there and not get played with. I also like this system better because my 19 months old and 4 year old can put the toys away by themselves. I use sharpie to write down what should go where (duplos, music toys, cars, dolls, etc.)

I also have the Ikea $59 one, I really like the look of it for the price,it's medium brown stained wood with a nice slam-proof lid. It needs to be up against the wall as the back is particle board, so it may not qualify as "really nice" but again it's great for the money.

Hi,
I was just looking at this in a catalog. The only thing I would want to go with this are lids for the boxes. Do you know of one that comes with lids or a place to get lids for it?

Just wondering, the toys in my house are making me crazy, along with the all the clothes he's grown out of and are still in his drawers!

Thanks!
