Went to Baby Depot today just to get an idea of what was out there, and really liked the looks of the Carter's Eric Carle highchair. THe base seemed a bit wide, but otherwise, it looked good and seemed improved since the last BBB came out--cover was vinyl, etc. However, I wasn't able to look at all the details, so it is possible this isn't a great overall high chair.

I am really just beginning my quest for a highchair. It would be great to have something that folds, but I suppose it isn't necessary. Not a big fan of the ruffle on the cover, and price is probably a big factor for us.

Also, could someone recommend a reasonably priced high chair for the grandparents' house? SIL and bro have twins 1 mo. older than ds, so between the three kids, I think that even if we spent $50 it would probably get used plenty. Or is a booster seat on the chair just as easy?

Thanks so much for any input! :)

I love my Fisher Price Healthy Deluxe. For some reason, Target had it cheaper than everywhere else at $69.99. They are pretty much sold out, but a newer version is coming out. I would scour your local Targets to see if they have any left. They are doing the no ruffle version again for Target, but I'm not sure when it's coming out.

They are just showing the regular Healthy Care, which I'm sure will be about $50, so I'm not sure if they plan on offering the deluxe version again.

edited to add they just started selling the regular version for the old price of the Deluxe. Bummer!!! It's on Target's website.

We love our FP Deluxe Healthy Care HC also, but it doesn't mean that's the one you have to pick. We did because we liked the features it had. Look for what you think might be important to you. For us it was features like a vinyl seat that was also washable, multiple height adjustments (we could feed him from the couch or pull him right up to the table), reclinable (for when he was too young to sit up well by himself), 3 removeable and dishwasher safe trays (I love being able to throw it in the dishwasher after a couple uses or after a particularly messy meal!), wheels, folds up for smaller storage or portability if necessary (although we haven't done that much). Just try to think about what kinds of things you might need/want and make sure the chair you pick has it.
