With DS’s birthday fast approaching I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations for good toys, videos, etc. for a one year old? I really have no clue! I’d appreciate any thoughts that anyone has.
Thanks!

My DS just turned 1 this past weekend and we bought him the Radio Flyer Ultimate Family Trike and he absolutely loves it! http://www.radioflyer.com/trikes/trikes_48.html
I had heard a lot of good things about the Kettler trike but when we found this one we liked it better. It has a stroller style adjustable push handle that steers the front wheel while they are still young. It also has the air tires for a smoother ride and so much more. We bought it at Toys R Us for a lot cheaper than the Kettler trike also.

Around that age, Audrey started to really like all the Fisher Price Little People sets. Her favorite is the doll house, but she also really likes the zoo with the zoo train. All the poor zoo animals are living in the doll house right now though. :)
She also loves books, esp. the musical ones from Sesame Street. She will actually sit or dance with them for at least half an hour.
She liked the Curiosity Cube too. She got it at her party and still plays with it at 18 months.

Here are some links to earlier discussions about this question. I included a whole list of possibilities that I made for my SIL, as well as some of the things that DS received for his birthday. Hits from DS's birthday were a PBK chair and the LT Deluxe Cozy Convertible.

Thanks ladies! That was a LOT of information, thanks for posting the links! I was at work and needed to do a quick post and had planned to do a search when I got home. Thanks so much!

On one of your posts you said the leafrog Learning Table. Did your son end up liking it for very long after his bday? I keep wavering on this one.

Whether the Leapfrog Learning Table would be good after 1 depends a lot on the mobility of your child, I think. I put that on the list for my SIL's 1-year-old because he was still crawling at that point. If your child is still crawling or just pulling up, I think that it would be good. However, by 1, my DS had been walking for 2 months and was pretty proficient. So, he would still play with it, but not for extended periods of time because there were things around the house to explore. He absolutely loved it when he was younger and not as mobile.
