Do any of you have a toy chest that you love? I am looking for one that is safe (doesn't close on baby's fingers) and preferably in a medium (not very light) wood. Babystyle.com has one, but it is in a light wood. . .Or if you have any other recommendations for something that looks nice, and stores toys well. Thanks!!!

There have been several posts on this toy chest if you do a search. It is from Childesigns, and is typically offered in a cherry finish as well. BabyUniverse.com normally has it, but it is currently out of stock. You might try emailing them to see when it will be back in stock.

This ebay seller always has them, as well.

Another option, available in cognac, though I find this chest less attractive:

I don't know if this is the stain you are looking for though. There are several unstained toy chests reasonably priced on the internet, if you do a goodle search, so you could just stain one yourself to your own specifications. I also think there is something you can get at hardware stores to make the lid slam-proof, and therefore more child-friendly, though I don't know precisely what it is.

HTH!
