Just curious, what is all the fuss about these trikes? We just received a Fisher Price one as a gift http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005UOSC/104-2559585-7722300?v=glance&s=toys&vi=pictures&img=14#more-pictures
and DS (two) loves it. Rides all over the house (although uses his feet on the floor rather than the pedals for now). Am I missing something?

We love our Kettler but I highly suspect that any trike would excite a child...
Other trikes might have this too but I like that the Kettlers pedals can lock so that the child does not get hit with them. And I love love love my stroller bar to push Tristan in...but again I highly suspect that any trike would excite!!!!

I also received the FP trike as a gift. DD loved it and I suppose she doesn't really love her Kettler any better, they both do the same thing to her. But the FP doesn't even compare to the Kettler. The FP one is all plastic while the Kettler is a finely tuned tricycle. Due to the weather, I've not used either outdoors yet, but I can't imagine the FP one would even go in the grass, let alone gravel. The back wheels on the FP don't even turn when I push it on linoleum.

It's like comparing the free Kolcraft umbrella stroller at TRU to a Bugaboo and then some.

There are a ton of other differences between the two, but it's way too late to get into the details.

Hi, can you tell me where I can find the real Kettler? I saw the Fisher Price link, but am not sure if what the Kettler actually is. Is it good for a 2 year old? Thanks.

You can get them various places on-line, but here's a link with a description and the entire product line. http://www.mytoybox.com/kettler.htm

We got ours at a local bike shop. We got it for DD when she was 20 months and she loves it.
