Still in search of a good answer- does an 18 month old need a seatbelt and/or footrest on the Kettler? It seems pretty clear that people think these features are great for younger kids (around age 1), but not sure about a little older. Thanks!

My 18-month-old has both, and I am glad. We push him on the trike for long walks in the neighborhood, and I would worry about him climbing or falling off without the belt. Also, he isn't even close to reaching the pedals yet (he is in about the 25th percentile for height).

We just got our Air Happy two weeks ago. We have the seatbelt but not the footrest. The seatbelt is essential for when we take walks, but DD can rest her feet on the pedals fine. She can't quite pedal yet, though.
