Steve just said something that I thought interesting...and I don't know if is accurate or not but thought it might help some of us feel better about it's purchase.

Tristan knows when we say "ring the bell" to ring it...and I agree it is a little sound and a very simple "ring" "ring"...
I told Steve about the mention that there are better bells out there and his comment was "well it is a REAL bell...most of these are not "real" bells and use spring action devices"...
So that comment made me feel better...I like the idea of the real thing for some odd reason.
Again not sure it is true or even what the difference is in a bell vs a "spring" sounding bell...but the thought of it being a "real" sound might make some of us feel better with our purchases.

Neve, how does Tristan ring the bell, I mean with one finger or whole hand or what? Maybe it's just us, but the one we have is so stiff I can hardly work it myself and Logan can't push or pull the lever at all, even if she did understand the concept of letting go fast enough to make it strike the bell and keeping her hand off the red part so it can "ding".

I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the one we have.

Matthew rings our bell all the time and has been since we purchased ours in September. He needs to use a few fingers to do it but he does it. HTH...

Karen,
I'll watch him carefully with it today to see...for sadly I don't know if he uses one of more fingers...I do know I found it stiff and his first week or so so did he.
But I'll have answer later after I evaluate it...:)

DD (16 months) can't ring her bell yet either. However, her 2 yr old cousins were able to, so I'm guessing it'll just take some time.

He uses his little "pointer" finger to ring the bell...

Thanks Neve! It sounds so cute the way you say it, I can totally picture him doing that. Of course in my mind he is still that little baby I met last summer!

I'm going to keep working with Logan on her bell, I'm sure she will be able to do it when she is a little bigger. She knows what to do, she just can't push hard enough yet I think.
