Chicco Mamma High Chair- too deep for 10 month old babies ?

I have a Chicco Mamma high chair and my ten month old son can't seem to see his finger food on the tray to pick it up.It seems like the tray is to far away from him and the seat is too deep. He is not a small baby, so I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and has a good solution. I am thinking of trying to fit something under him to prop him up. Any suggestions ?

Do you have the infant insert to put in the highchair? I found that worked well for my small daughter. Didn't it come with your highchair?

I use to use the insert,but now it doesn't really do much for him. Thanks!
