Hi! I need advice for what to do for bathtime for my 4 mo. old DS. We had a newborn bath that is now getting too small-he is barely in the water, he splashes and makes a huge mess all over the counters, but the worst is that he can push off his feet backwards and it's getting a little scary. So what do I do now? It would probably be nice to have something that goes in the regular tub so he can splash all he wants, but I am just not sure what to get, any recommendations? Thanks so much,

Brenna

How about an inflatable baby tub? They are supposed to be ages 6 months and up, but would probably work fine for a 4 month old. You can get them at BRU, Target, and so on.

I loved, loved, loved the euro tub.

I really can't say enough great things about it. You can use it from birth to 2 years+ and it is very safe and easy to use. It was a real lifesaver for me when I had to bath both my kids together ( one infant, one toddler). Now they use the big bathtub. The only negative about this tub is storing it - it is fairly large. But, for us we just kept it in the big bathtub all the time. I really don't think you cna go wrong with this tub!

ITA on the eurotub!!! DS loves to splash and kick in the tub; we keep the eurotub in the regular tub without any mess. I also love how it *holds* babe... I had to wash ds in the sink on vacation (1st time ever, we used the eurotub since his cord fell off), and I could barely get him clean with 2 hands, let alone let him have fun!

It is super big though; we store ours in the regular tub as well.

We had the exact same problem with sink-baths starting at about 4 months. We switched to the Safer Bather in our regular tub:

It's nice because the baby can either lay in it or sit up (when he/she is old enough). It absorbs some of the bathwater, so it stays in one place and doesn't slide around, plus it stays warm throughout the whole bath. And you can just hang it from the rod to dry afterwards. The best thing about it is that it's soft...like a pillow. So if baby flails around (and mine certainly does), she/he won't bang her head or other body parts on the bottom of the tub.
