I am trying to convince DH that we should get this table now and save it for Xmas. I know several have posted that the table is good quality. What about the trains? Are they compatible w/ Thomas? Or will we have to chuck the trains and start from scratch? tia!

I have only seen the train set up at the store but it appears to be very decent quality. Even if you hated the train the table and bins alone are much less than anywhere else. In fact in One Step Ahead or one of those the train table is about $125 and just one of the bins is around $40 or $50. When we started our train when my oldest was little I purchased a set from Lillian Vernon and then added from there and honestly you can't much tell to look at the set.

Hi, I was at Costco today and would have bought this set but the box is huge and really heavy so DH is going back tomorrow to "deal with it"! The table is pretty nice and even if you don't like the quality of the set (it was ok) you could always try to sell it on E-bay or gift it or something. The price is still REALLY good. Here are some links to a bunch of sites that have the same table. I honestly didn't find ONE that had a better price for the table by itself let alone the table with draws and set!
