DS never did, but DD just squeals with glee everytime I give her one particular bear. I'm debating whether or not to try and find a backup, or if it's too soon to know. It's a retired Ty bear, so I would have to do ebay to get it.

We gave Colwyn his lovey around 6 months, I think. We included Fluffles in feeding, playing, and sleeping. Now he definitely loves Fluffles more than his other stuffed animals.. he likes to suck on his ears and paws if he doesn't have a binky around.

How terrible does it sound if i said i have no clue LOL :P my kids just did one day & i don't even know how it happened.

But i will add if you think your child is becoming somewhat "attached" to a certain object, GET A BACKUP! if it turns out they are not so you have a matching pair, big deal LOL

All three of my children have a lovey/s and trust me backups are a VERY important thing!

I think around 5-6 months old, for my son. Now, at almost 17 months, he is attached to it like super glue. In the last month, he's taken a big liking to a small Snoopy as well- so now he goes to bed with Lovey and Snoopy. As for the Ty baby you mention, is is safe for your DD? I only ask because I know many of the Ty products aren't for kids under 3.

Yikes. I hope so! It's a retired "pluffie" named Cloud.

What do you think? I can't imagine what would be unsafe about it, but I'm frequently surprised!

WOW are those things CUTE!!! too bad they are retired.

BTW, i got a small soft doll (actually got 3!) for my dd when she was around 5 months, and I held it while rocking/nursing/etc. My friend also talks to the lovey and pretends it's alive--we didn'at really do that. not sure when DD started liking it, but she sure carries it around now at 11 months!

My DD's lovely is a a pluffies too. I gave it to her when she was about 7 months old. She loves Dangles the Monkey. I was afraid my DD would one day rip Dangles and eat the beanie beads that I attempted to de-bead him. I decided not to since the beads were all safely sewn in each of its own little bag rather than loose with the cotton filling. DH thought it was funny that I was performing surgery on a stuffed monkey.

I got her a backup when I notice around ~12months that she didn't want to sleep unless Dangles was with her in the crib.

DD has become attached to her blankie, 3 stuffed animals & her doll the last couple of months. I wish it was just one!

Wow- very cute! I would feel safe with that too. I certainly didn't see anything wrong with it for a baby. Hope you can find a backup!

We tried at about 8 or 9 months by giving DS some little stuffed animals + a soft mini-blanket. He like the toys + blanket but not in an attached way. At about 11 months, a friend gave him a mini-Snoopy and he loves this toy. He's very attached will not go anywhere without Snoopy. We've tried to acquire some backups but have not found the perfect match. He likes the other Snoopy dolls but knows the difference! It can't hurt to have a backup. =)
