Is our Kick and Play defective?

When we first got it I wasn't at all interested in the kicking action, I just wanted a safe bouncy seat while I took a shower. We only recently put the toy bar up and the lights and music work when I turn it on, but when I put the switch on the side where it's supposed to work when DD kicks, nothing happens. Am I missing a step, or is it just a problem with my unit? Thanks!

It sounds like it has a problem. When you switch the switch to the "baby," the music and lights are supposed to be activated when the baby bumps the foot pad areas. I hope you got it at a place that takes returns easily.

Check out with your hands if you can get it to light up etc. I know that it took a bit before my daughter could get it going, but by the time she did she loved that one.
