If so, were they pretty much as advertised? We got the catalog in the mail and there are a few unusual things I'm thinking of as hanukah/christmas gifts for Sammy:

"kinship play set"--set of three families, just plain painted wood, seem like a great accessory to a set of wooden blocks.

"wheeltown" play sets--I think these are actually the "plan city" sets I've seen elsewhere.

wooden workbench: I love this, and it's only $30, but it does say 3 and up and I can't tell how small the pieces are, so I'll either give them a call or just wait till next year:

I don't know about those particular products, but when my siblings and I were kids my Mom used to buy us things from Hearthsong from time to time. The products were always well made and very cool. :) I plan on buying from them for ds.

That little kinship play set is so cute!

Ditto! Everything I've seen from them has been very nice. Haven't ordered anything for DD yet from them, but I've got a couple of things marked in the current catalog.

I've ordered some things from them, including the Happyville block set. It is really nice and exactly as I thought they would be (and I'm pretty picky & return a lot of things). I am planning to order more from them before Christmas.

I have ordered many times from Hearthsong, especially for Easter.

We have the plan city" airport, garage, fire station, gas station. They are an older model, 2 years old. I have found them to be somewhat fragile. At least in the hands of a 2-3-4 year old. Many parts are broken and all of the cars have lost their wheels.
