Anybody have it yet?

I'm pretty sick of the ones we have - Sophie is addicted to them, so I know the music all together too well ;). Time for a new one.

Wonder if Costco has it yet...

We do not have Baby Noah, but wanted to recommend Baby McDonald. I don't know if you have it, but I think it is fairly new. DD loves it, but Old McDonald is her favorite song.

Marisa - I think it comes out next week (like Nov. 5 or 6th maybe). I'll be interested in hearing if others like it too. DH thinks I'm nuts to want more, but I love them, and so does Jake. I figure the new baby will benefit even when Jake is bored. I'm considering Neptune and Noah as options. Anything animal is a hit at this house!

My Costco does not have it yet.

Which ones do you have now?

We have ALL of them!

Costco had it for $11.99 for the DVD.

Will let you know how she likes it.

We have Baby McDonald - it's actually been out for quite some time. The newest before Noah was Da Vinci.

Sick that I know this, huh? ;)

A-

Neptune is good, as is Galelio and Da Vinci. Of the three, I'd say Neptune of DV.

Marisa,

How is the Baby McDonald compared to the other animal ones? We've got all of them except McDonald. I thought it might be overkill but Lorelei is now really into hearing songs vs. just music. Today she pointed at another baby's shirt with a kitty on it and said cat--which I know she got from the Neighborhood Animals because I didn't teach it to her. So now I'm thinking these DVDs are educational in addition to just being hypnotic.

It's more advanced than the original "primitive" BE DVDs.

Sophie loves the Baby McD one. *I"M* the one that gets sick of them ;)

Have you thought about borrowing it from your library first to see if Lorelei likes it?

They are definitely educational. Sophie has learned tons of words, animal noises and even colours (Baby VanGogh). She said "yellow" to me one day and proceeded to bring me all of her yellow toys and even pointed out that her cheese and waffles were yellow!

LOL! We have them all too. And I almost positive that DaVinci was out before MacDonald. ;)

Sarah STILL likes them and asks for them. Its funny to watch her now interacting with the videos as opposed to passively watching them.

Nah, I think that it was MacDonald, Galileo, Da Vinci. Da Vinci was definitely after MacDonald, lol.

And I saw Baby Noah at TRU last night, so it is out! Marisa, look forward to your review.

Da Vinci came out in September I think. I couldn't find it at Target and ended up having it held hostage by Amazon.com for two weeks.

I know that we had McD before that because it was here when my MOTHER was at Easter. :P

I'm ALLLLLLL over these babies, believe me ;)

And to think that once upon a time I used to be into subtitled foreign films in NYC movie houses.

*sigh*

D'oh!!! Never mind! I was reading DaVinci and thinking Galileo for some reason. You are so right! :)

We bought it at Sam's today, but haven't watched it since it is for DS's Christmas. I'm just starting but on my way to getting all of them!

You girlies are SO funny! Now this debate is the most heated we should get on these boards, IMO. ;) I'm so glad I didn't have to notify the moderaters!

Julia still loves these, and she is nearly 3! She watches one before bed every night. We also have them all! I know she got Galileo and Numbers for Christmas last year, and we put McDonald in her Easter basket. We got DaVinci in August, right before we moved.

I have to think very hard about the actual titles, because Julia has a different name for all of them. Baby Turtle is Neptune, Baby Tiger is Numbers, Knees and Toes is DaVinci, Baby E-i-o is McDonald, Baby Goat is Van Gogh. These are her current favorites. She's so funny!

I am looking forward to seeing the new one, Noah's Ark. Please post your reviews!

Well, I haven't sat down and watched the entire thing yet, but it seems that this one is a LOT more commercialised than the others. Maybe because it's been taken over by Disney?

It has real animals in it, but an awful lot more of the cartoon ones. A lot of the same music as the other DVDs, but it's been "remixed" different drum beats to the same music. There is an animation of the lift the flap books. Where you see part of an animal and then the cartoon flap opens and you see the entire animal underneath. But it's all cartoon animals. I was really excited, thinking I was going to see a REAL wombat, not a cartoon one. :(

Jonathan said there was an actual ad in the beginning of the DVD for something new called "Kid Einstein" that is apparently coming out. I guess Julie Clark still has her eyes on the prize!

Sophie seems to like it, but I'm kind of disappointed. It seems like they've really sold out and not as much creative interest has gone into this one.

I'll try and watch it this week and see if there's any more to add.

Thanks for your comments. Very interesting. I still plan to get this, so I'll share my thoughts as well.

The Kid Einstein is also interesting. Perhaps they cannot come up with any new concept ides, so they are going to try a whole new approach. We'll probably try this, since Julia is nearly 3.
