I would like to get DS a doll stroller for Christmas but the only ones I'm seeing in the stores are very girly. Has anyone seen one that would be more appropriate for a little boy?

TIA!

Kidsurplus.com has a few that aren't girly (IMO)

http://store.yahoo.com/kidsurplus/mcl510021.html this is a three wheel design, very cute, but I imagine frustrating for toddlers to use since I don't think the front wheel swivels

TRU and Target have ones made by Graco. They have the same patterns as many of the regular Graco stroller (navy and yellow, etc.) and are not girly like the bubblegum pink ones! ;)

We have a Jeep Liberty doll stroller for DS (black with yellow trim) and he loves its. It is a 3-wheeled jogging model and I think he actually pushes it better than the 4-wheeled models we tried. We bought it at Sam's Club last year.

This year, Sam's has a gender-neutral set (very subtle navy pattern) by Graco. However, in addition to the stroller, you get an infant carrier, a mini PNP and a carrying bag for $46. The Graco ones that Beth mentioned would be fine for a boy.

The other place to look is TJ Maxx (or Marshalls). They had cute gender-neutal Chicco strollers a few months ago. I noticed holiday gift items are starting to arrive.

We have the red Maclaren doll stroller for Alia. She loves that it looks like her stroller :-) I bought it on Babystyle with a discount. The only thing is that the wheels don't swivel - but for us that hasn't been a problem.

We have the exact same one - very gender neutral! Here's a link:

But don't pay that price. babystyle had it (not sure if they still do) for $20, and there is the 25% off coupon floating around right now.

This is adorable, but I can't find the stroller on their site.
Has anyone seen it lately?

Thanks!

I couldn't find it on babystyle's site last night so it must be gone. Did you try www.froogle.com for a better price than the link I posted above?

Thanks Lori!

I was just doing that and found it for $15.99 at kidsurplus.com. I don't think they have the red though. :(

Guess I had this thread on the brain at Wal-Mart today- they have a Graco travel system in Navy plaid. Very boyish imho, I would not pick it out for my DD. Too manly! ;)

Lisa,

Funny, I was just telling DH before he went to bed that I wanted to get ds a doll and stroller for the holidays. I told him not to worry, that I wouldn't get anything "girlie" since he immediately made "the face". So,,,no advice here but I am appreciating this thread. Ah...now to find a boyish doll. Any thoughts anyone?

Tons of options for boyish dolls - cabbage patch kids, corolle (we got an anatomically correct boy doll from Tuesday Morning), American Girl makes a Bitty Baby boy, I could go on and on. There were some recent threads here and on the toddler board about dolls, including boy dolls - check them out!

We also got the Corolle boy doll from Tuesday Morning - a friend was kind enough to pick one up for us! I plan to put him in the doll stroller in front of our Christmas tree for Christmas morning.

Thanks Lori! I'll try and find those threads you mentioned. I suppose I should hit the Toddler boards more than I do now that you mention it. I guess I'm in denial. I still think of ds as my "baby", YNWIM. I guess that is another thread huh? In any case thanks for the suggestions. You are always such a great source of info. Much appreciated!

Lisa, we got a Graco umbrella-style one from Toys R Us. It remarkable resembles Ds' Maclaren techno in color...navy and electric blue!

Teva,

I don't know if this helps but there are mini Maclarens in blue at Miller's Toys in Mamaroneck for $19.99. I really wanted to get it for my DS but my DH wasn't loving the idea. I think I might get this for him anyway + a doll for the holidays. =)

Lori,

The anatomically correct doll, can you tell me more. Who makes it, how much was it, etc.? I have a more personal question regarding it too if anyone is up to it, but I don't want to post it on the board, lol. ;-) And what is Tuesday Morning?

Thanks, Kath

Fun subject!!! Depends on the price range you are looking for. The Gracos are perfect for little boys imo. They are widely available at the big box stores too. They are not a+ quality (our canopy wire fell out before dd used it for a whole week and could not be replaced, parts were missing but were sent, it rusted VERY quickly, etc.) but are suitable and checp to replace when they are trashed. We have been through about 5 cheap doll buggies at this point.

For a "better" that will hold up to years of use and abuse the older zooper pram is awesome and came in navy or red. DD has the red and LOVES it!!! We purchased it at Lakeland Baby in Wayne, NJ, it was about $100 though. It is as strong as a real stroller, ds actually has sat in it numerous times although he is not supposed to and it has not even wiggled. Can't say the same for the about to loose a wheel Graco. It came with a carrycot and changing bag, and has a reversible handle.

Some cute other ones:
Target has this and the other little set is available too, very cute http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0002TI8ZI.16._AA260_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_14/601-2604008-1656939?%5Fencoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0002TI8ZS
This is by Badger basket http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0001K5900.16._AA260_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
This set is available in other colors at a bunch of stores http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B00026FUTS.16._AA260_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg
This one at TRU even comes with the dolls http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000099362/qid=1100359204/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/002-4911491-8323222?v=glance&s=toys

Kath, it is made by Corolle and is called Fanfan. It is a drinking/squeeze the belly to wet doll, and is all plastic. Like this one, but his outfit is a little different:

And if you want to e-mail me your question, feel free!

Sam's club has the exact same quattro tour set for $46 instead of $99. I'm trying to talk dh into getting it for Daria eventhough twice I have already said I was done xmas shopping...LOL. They have it out on display and she loved the stroller, the cheapy one we have from TRU isn't big enough for some of her larger dolls.

Jenn,

THANK YOU! I'm not familiar with Miller's (don't get over to the "west side" much but will definately take a drive over there this week. Do you know what color they are carrying?

Kath, I found another anatomically correct doll by Corralle. It's called Paul and it is a potty training doll. (recommended by Dr. Phil if that matters to you!) Here is a link that shows a picture. I've seen it for less $$$ so definately do a search and shop price if you are interested.

Woops! ETA link :+

Miller's is a great, huge store. It's a higher end toy, baby product + bike store but the prices are surprisingly good for lots of items. I saw a blue doll stroller. They also discount Thomas + Brio - 20 percent off. Hope this helps.

Edit: There's a coupon in the local coupon mailer envelope for $5 off $25 or $10 off $50 so if you go bring the coupon or mention it to them.

=)

Oh that is really cute! And the potty training part is perfect. I am thinking something that could go in the tub and would use a potty would be good at this stage, but know he is realizing that he has parts dd and I don't have. This whole raising a boy thing is SOOOOO different than a girl, lol.
