Wooden train set - Battat?

I was at Marshalls and they had a 56-piece wooden train set by Battat. I picked it up, not knowing if it was a decent price. I paid $50, and it said it would retail for $80. It was packaged in a cute wooden crate. Does anyone have this set? Is it a good deal, or can I do better? Anyone know if its compatible with other sets?

My son is only 10 months, so this would be for way in the future. So I have plenty of time to shop!
